Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment

The Struggle Can be real.

Sleep apnea and chronic snoring are more than just nuisances—they can significantly impact your overall health and quality of life. At Wainright & Wassel DDS, we understand the serious implications of these conditions, which is why we offer comprehensive treatments tailored to your specific needs.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a condition where the airway becomes blocked during sleep, leading to pauses in breathing and a reduction in oxygen levels. This disruption can cause a cascade of health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and even stroke. Additionally, untreated sleep apnea can lead to daytime fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and a general decrease in your quality of life.

Our primary treatment for mild to moderate OSA is oral appliance therapy. These custom-fit devices are designed to keep your airway open while you sleep by repositioning your lower jaw or tongue. Made from comfortable, durable materials, these appliances are a non-invasive solution that can significantly reduce or eliminate sleep apnea symptoms. They’re easy to use and are often preferred by patients who find CPAP machines cumbersome or uncomfortable.

For those with more severe cases of sleep apnea, we may recommend CPAP therapy, which uses continuous positive airway pressure to keep your airway open. In some cases, surgery may be the best option, particularly if there are physical obstructions like enlarged tonsils or a deviated septum contributing to the apnea.

In addition to treating sleep apnea, we also offer solutions for chronic snoring, which, while often less serious than sleep apnea, can still disrupt sleep and strain relationships. Like sleep apnea treatments, our approach to snoring is personalized. We may recommend lifestyle changes, oral appliances, or, in some cases, minor surgical procedures to reduce snoring and help you (and your partner) enjoy a better night’s sleep.

At Wainright & Wassel DDS, our goal is to help you achieve restful, uninterrupted sleep, improving both your health and your quality of life. We work closely with you to determine the best course of treatment, ensuring that you receive the care you need to sleep soundly and wake up refreshed.
