Kim

Kim is originally from West Virginia, but after living in the Raleigh area for almost 30 years, she calls North Carolina home. As a testament to Kim’s dedication to our practice, she has worked here for over 28 years, and is a lifetime member of the American Dental Assistants Association. Kim is an invaluable asset to the practice because of her patient knowledge, patient relationships, and great sense of humor.

Kim and her husband, Clint, have one daughter, Sydney. Kim loves to laugh, travel, read, and cook. She enjoys spending time with her family at Lake Norman and is a die hard West Virginia fan. Go Mountaineers!

Ashley

Ashley has been a valued patient of Wainright & Wassel DDS since the age of four, so it was a natural transition for her to join the team in 2015! A proud native of Raleigh, Ashley brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our practice. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill in 2015, she earned her National Certification for Dental Assisting (CDA) in 2016. She is a dedicated member of the American Dental Assistant Association (ADAA) and is currently pursuing her Fellowship in the ADAA (FADAA). Additionally, Ashley recently completed her training at Phlebotomy Training Specialist school and successfully passed her national boards to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) in 2024.

Over the past decade, Ashley has gained extensive experience in various areas, including implant surgery, sedation, cosmetic dentistry, and full-arch hybrid cases, in addition to routine general dentistry procedures. She takes great joy in helping our patients regain their confidence through beautiful smiles. Ashley is highly motivated by professional growth and continuing education, consistently seeking opportunities to expand her skill set and knowledge. She enjoys working in a fast-paced, advanced clinical environment and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, detail-oriented care that enhances both patient comfort and clinical outcomes.

Ashley is very close to her family and never misses the yearly tradition of Tennessee football games with her dad. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, their son, and their dog, Lily.

Ilene

Ilene was born in Manila, Philippines and raised on the beautiful island of Guam!

In 1998, Ilene graduated from Concorde Career Institute in North Hollywood, CA and moved to North Carolina in 2003. She has been a dental assistant for 20 years and loves dentistry! She enjoys the interaction with every patient and looks forward to working with patients achieve their smile!

One of Ilene’s greatest personal achievements was when she decided to go back to school to receive her Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting in 2011. Most recently, Ilene became a Certified Phlebotomy Technician after successfully completing an intensive 12-week training program.

She and her husband, Brian have 2 children, Brandon and Isabella and 2 puppies Mochi and Pika. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends and travel when they can. She loves to clean (she finds it therapeutic) and cooking Filipino dishes.

Kady

Kady is a Raleigh native and attended Wake Technical Community College for school. Starting as a sterilization technician, she has been working in the dental field for 5 years and joined our practice in April 2019. Kady is very passionate about dentistry and strives to make her patients feel comfortable at Wainright and Wassel. 

Kady married her husband Jonny in 2016, and they have a dog named Whiskey. They love to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Loren

Loren is originally from Newport News, Virginia. She moved to Raleigh with her family when she was seven years old and has been a long-time patient of Wainright and Wassel DDS ever since.

Throughout high school and college, Loren was a skilled trampoline and tumbling gymnast while having a passion for art. As a graduate of Wake Technical Community College’s Dental Assisting Program, Loren earned her title of Certified Dental Assistant and began working at Wainright and Wassel soon after. 

In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, their daughter and two dogs.

Genesis

Genesis is a passionate dental assistant born and raised in Raleigh, NC, to a family with roots in Mexico. In 2023, she proudly graduated from Wake Technical Community College’s Dental Assisting Program and joined Dr. Wassel’s team, bringing her dedication and enthusiasm to the practice. In 2024, she expanded her skills by becoming a Certified Phlebotomy Technician, further enhancing the care she provides to patients. Genesis has a particular interest in periodontal procedures, where she enjoys observing and assisting, as she finds these treatments incredibly rewarding.

Outside of her professional life, Genesis is a devoted animal lover. She has fostered dogs through Saving Grace and shares her home with her husband and their two dogs. With her strong work ethic and commitment to her patients and animals alike, Genesis continues to make a positive impact in her community.

Quay

Quay is originally from Sampson County. She moved to the triangle area in 2015. She attended Wake Technical Community College Dental Assting program, and earned her certification as a Certified Dental Assistant. She is now apart of the dental team at Wainright and Wassel DDS.
Quay has one child. In her free time, she spends most of her time outdoor with her son, and playing tennis. Quay enjoys going to beach, traveling, relaxing and spending time with her family.

What Quay loves most about being a CDA is building positive relationships with patients and making them feel confident about improving their smile and oral health. I look forward to a successful career with the Wainright and  Wassel dental team/family.

Courteney

Courteney is originally from Chicago IL and moved to Raleigh in 2017. She attended Wake Technical Community College’s Dental Assisting program, and received her DA II in 2025. She is now a part of the dental team at Wainright and Wassel DDS and enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and cared for during their dental visits. 

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, staying active, and art such as painting and drawing, which helps her bring a positive and creative energy into everything she does. She looks forward to her professional journey and growing with the team at Wainright and Wassel.

Christopher

Hygiene Assistant

Christopher is originally from Bronx, NY. He moved to Raleigh to be with his family and pursue his dreams of a career in dentistry. Christopher is in training to become a DA1 and progress to a DAII. He is a loved member of our team and our hygienists rely on him to make sure that everything is perfectly prepared for our patients. He prides himself on making sure that everything runs smoothly.

In his spare time, Christopher likes to work out, read books, write poetry, shop and make custom jewelry. He also enjoys eating, going to movies, and playing video games. He loves to worship God and spend time with his family and friends.
